‘From Sex to Spirit’ Tantra Retreat
15-21 Dec ’25 | Bali, Indonesia
8-14 Nov ’26 | Goa, India
A 7-day journey through the chakras; from the 1st chakra (sex) to the 7th chakra (crown).
A tantric, shamanic journey through the body “from Sex to Superconsciousness”.
Welcome
This retreat offers 7 days of meditations, practises, and ceremonies. Each day is dedicated to one of the 7 chakras.
“From Sex to Superconsciousness” is a well-known term from Osho and it teaches us that sex and Samadhi are one.
The term explains that we can activate the full potential of our sexual energy from our root / sex center (1st chakra – muladhara) to our crown (7th chakra – sahasrara); to transform raw sexual energy into the realisation of ultimate consciousness.
There is a saying in yoga and tantra; “no mud, no lotus”. Without the mud at the bottom of the waters, a lotus will not grow. The mud provides nourishment to the roots so the stem can grow and blossom on the surface of the water.
Similar, our sexual energy functions as the rich mud from where our life force energy can grow and develop to its fullest flowering of enlightened consciousness.

Kamala Devi
Kamala vibrates a joyful aliveness, especially when dancing and chanting. She naturally creates loving spaces that feel safe and solid. Read more about Kamala HERE.
Both Meredith and Kamala lived in West-Africa when there where about 20 years old. Meredith studied African Art in Ghana for a year, and Kamala studied and worked as a Cultural Anthropologist, mostly in The Gambia, and Ghana, yet she travelled to many other African countries in the years following.
For both women, this time in West-Africa ended up being the first (of many) life changing events. It had a profound impact on the Soul level and brought a connection to spirit and energy which both had not felt that strong before. It was a first spiritual opening and it set them on the path of self exploration.
Kamala’s dearest memories of these times are the ones when dancing barefoot with other women on the African soil. Her soul felt alive and there was a deep sense of coming home to herself.
That same time – in her late teens and early twenties – Kamala started to travel to India and Bali as well. Since then she has always kept coming back to these lands following the Soul’s calling. She feels deep appreciation and love for The Gambia, Bali, and spends time in India too.
These lands have supported both Meredith and Kamala on their paths of self transformation. They have spent the past 20 years discovering who they are and letting go of layers of fear, protective mechanisms, and old stories; and moving towards joy and universal love.
Both women share the commitment to be a vibration of love and joy, supporting others to feel empowered, and excited about life. They look forward to welcoming you for a transformative week in India and/ or Bali.

Q: What is tantra?
A: At its core, Tantra is a “path” of spiritual transformation that seeks to re-unite the “individual” with the divine or cosmic consciousness. It is a “path” to liberation. Tantra distinguishes itself from many other spiritual traditions in that it focuses on liberation via the physical body rather than through transcendence of it.
Tantric practices often involve rituals, meditation, mantra chanting, breathwork, visualization, and the use of symbols and yantras. One significant aspect of Tantra is the recognition and cultivation of life force (or s.xual) energy, often also called “kundalini.” This energy is believed to reside within the subtle body and can be awakened and directed through various practices.
Chakras play a crucial role in Tantra, particularly in the context of Kundalini. Kundalini is often described as a dormant, coiled serpent energy located at the base of the spine. Through the awakening of Kundalini, this energy rises upward through the central energy channel, activating and purifying each of the seven chakras along its path.
The elements are also important in Tantra, as they are fundamental forces that shape both the external world and our internal experiences. The chakras are often associated with the elements, and it is beneficial to work with these elemental associations to balance and harmonize the energy centers.

Q: What are chakras?
Chakras are energy centers within the body. There are seven main chakras, each associated with specific physical, emotional, and spiritual functions. The balance and alignment of these chakras is crucial for overall well-being, both physically and spiritually.
Practices like (dynamic) meditation, dance, yoga, and energy healing support to open, balance, and activate these energy centers. When you practise tantra, one of the first steps is to create harmony in your chakra system, and to continue working on this.
Below an overview of the chakras and their connection to the elements. It is important to understand the qualities and functions of each chakra in relation to the natural world as the elements are the fundamental forces that shape both the external world and our internal experience.

Q: Is there any nudity or s.xual practise during these retreats? There are certain misconceptions about tantra so this question and its answer are relevant.
A: No, during these retreats there will not be any nudity or s.xual practises. When we work with life force energy (sometimes also called s.xual energy), it does not mean that s.xual practises are involved. What it actually means is that we are working with activating the full potential of our s.xual energy from muladhara (first chakra) to sahasrara (seventh chakra).
Q: What to bring for this weekend retreat?
